Bassoonist Amy Harman, together with pianist Antonio Oyarzabal, present a special recital in celebration of International Women’s Week - with a thrilling programme featuring works by seven brilliant female composers, including several talented students of Ralph Vaughan Williams.

In 2024, Amy Harman was appointed professor of bassoon at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, becoming the first woman ever to hold such a position in Germany. She was also the first bassoonist (of any gender) to perform a live broadcast solo recital for BBC Radio 3. One of the world's pre-eminent solo bassoon players, Amy has had new works written for her by leading living composers including Heloïse Werner and Roxanna Panufnik.

Basque pianist Antonio Oyarzabal, famed for his incredible contribution to research and performance of music by women. Ambassador for Donne UK, the leading institution for women in music, his albums of piano works by women have won awards including a Golden Melomano, and 5 ★ Critic’s Choice in the BBC Music Magazine.
