Join us for an evening of historical delights as acclaimed authors Amy Jeffs and Helen Carr come together to discuss their newest works, as well as the creative processes behind them.Amy Jeffs is a British art historian, medievalist, artist, composer, and acclaimed author whose own illustrations have adorned a number of her books, including the Waterstones Book of the Year nominated 'Storyland'. Amy's newest work, 'Old Songs', is published on 25th September and sees her joined by illustrator Gwen Burns to deliver a spellbinding portal into British history and culture through ten traditional folk ballads.Helen Carr is a British historian, author, and broadcaster specializing in medieval England and has produced numerous documentaries alongside her written works. Her first book, 'The Red Prince' on the life of John of Gaunt was shortlisted for the prestigious Elizabeth Longford Prize for Historical Biography. Helen's newest work, 'Sceptred Isle: A New History of the 14th Century', is a thrilling narrative history of a century of revolution, shifting power and great change.
