This residency is a period of research towards a new work, utilising scores written while exploring how to work and create around full time caring responsibilities.
These scores started as ways into creativity. During this residency Amy will explore their potential as choreographic tools. The inquiry of this research is sensory load, considering the ebb and flow of a sensory experience from internal to external to further then back again.
Amy will explore how bodies are or are not equipped to deal with this, when sensory load is essential and when it is detrimental. The residency will be split with Amy’s child being present during some of the working time. Having created these tools while parenting, Amy will continue to explore caregiving and nurturing as a catalyst or strategy for making.
