Join us as we welcome Amy Twigg, Alice Slater and Aimée Walsh to discuss how they approach bringing the realities of female lives to the page in their debut novels.

Amy Twigg was born and raised in Kent. After studying Creative Writing at university, she moved to Surrey where she works as a freelance copywriter. Her debut novel, Spoilt Creatures, won the BPA Pitch Prize and was longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition and Blue Pencil Agency First Novel Award. She is also an alumnus of the Curtis Brown Creative novel writing course.

Alice Slater is a writer, editor and ex-bookseller from London. Her fiction has been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and appeared in Dear Damsels, Cunning Folk and On Anxiety. Death Of A Bookseller is her first novel.


Aimée Walsh is a writer from Belfast. Her short stories have been longlisted for the London Magazine Short Story Prize and published in Extra Teeth. Her non-fiction and book criticism has appeared in The Irish Times, The Observer, RTÉ Culture, Dazed, Refinery29 (US, Germany, Australia, and UK), and The Independent (UK, Spain, and Ireland), amongst others. Walsh holds a PhD in Irish Literature and Cultural History. Exile is her debut novel.
