An Adventurers Evening
Thursday 11th May
In conversation with Everest Mountaineer Doug Scott and Atlantic Rower Ian Rowe
Our Adventurers Evening brings together two contrasting environments for adventure – the land and the sea and will give you the chance to hear the exciting and very different stories of two of the country’s leading adventurers who have experienced some of the most inhospitable places on Earth.
Doug Scott CBE is one of the UK’s foremost mountaineers and the first Briton to climb Everest without Oxygen. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Doug has made 45 expeditions to the high mountains of Asia and scaled 40 peaks.
Ian Rowe is a transatlantic rower who made the world’s first attempt at the 3,000 mile unsupported crossing of the Atlantic from Africa to The Caribbean.
