An Ally for Inclusive Practice
Event Information
About this Event
The Strategic Plan states that as part of Abertay’s commitment to student success we must focus on ensuring the learning experiences we provide are inclusive. Since the COVID pandemic the majority of these learning experiences are online. To help staff ensure their resources are inclusive, Abertay will be introducing Blackboard Ally later in February which is a revolutionary product that integrates seamlessly into MyLearningSpace and focuses on making digital course content more accessible. It will:
1. Automatically, provide alternative formats for all learners 2. Provides reporting of accessibility issues with learning resources within MyLearningSpace courses 3. Provides instructor-specific feedback to save time and resources - provides detailed insights and guidance to instructors on how to improve the accessibility of their content
For more details about Ally look at the link below:

There will be a demonstration of the software and representatives from the Student Association will give their impressions of what it can do for them and other issues they face. We will also take this opportunity to look at the NUS benchmarking tool – the student digital experience, discuss where we are on each good practice principles, ask you to provide examples of current good practice and suggest ways we can improve.
