An Alternative Approach to Performance Management
This session will allow you to take away a diagnostics tool to discover the levers to pull to change the wider performance system operating in your organisation. It will include capability, and how to view it in a new way to improve future performance, as well as the real role managers should play in performance management.
The traditional performance management approach of ratings and annual appraisals is under fire, and rightly so. But what to do instead?
This is a shortened version of the all day workshop at the December 2015 CIPD Performance Management Conference and will look at an alternative approach.
Speaker: Paul Matthews
Paul is a regular speaker at HR and L&D events and exhibitions covering topics such as harnessing the power of informal learning, capability at work, onboarding, workplace performance, and how L&D can be effective in these tough times. He is also invited to speak on management and leadership, and how they impact on capability and performance at work.
As a speaker, Paul’s key skill is in making the ideas come alive with stories, and making sure the audience gets practical tools and tips to take away and implement. He excels at reducing complex theory down to simple concepts and then articulating these in a way that everyone can understand, and more importantly, use to get better results for themselves and their organisations.
Paul is on the L&D Advisory Group to the CIPD set up by Andy Lancaster.
