Description

Multi-talented poet, Hip-hop artist, BAFTA / MOBO award winner and co-Founder of performing arts company: The Hip-hop Shakespeare Company ‘Akala’ will be returning to Huddersfield on 23rd July 2017 for The Cocoa Butter Project’s

“An Audience with Akala.”

The event will take place at Huddersfield’s Cultural hub; The Hudawi Centre. Steeped in so much African Caribbean history, it was the only place to host such an important event. Akala will be giving a talk on the Pre-Colonial history of Africa, followed by a Q&A from the

audience. This event is open to all ages and communities, the aim is to empower, educate and encourage the community to gain more knowledge through Akala’s work. Doors will open 3pm and the show will begin 3.30pm with local speakers and some poetry.

Akala’s talk and Q&A will run from 4pm-5pm, with food being on sale at the end; serving both meat and vegan options.
