'An Audience With . . . ' Dragon Tamer, Kirsty Henshaw

On 01 May at the Nottingham Belfy Hotel, we are hosting a lunch with Kirsty Henshaw – the young mum who delivered one of the most memorable Dragon’s Den pitches – ever.

24-year-old Kirsty, electrified the den with her passion, commitment and gritty determination to succeed. A mother with two and a half jobs she proved she was prepared to do whatever it took to achieve her dream. After an emotional pitch, Kirsty became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to receive investment – £65,000 from dragons, Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne, for a 30 per cent stake in Kirsty's Freedom, her frozen dessert business. Just three years later she bought them out and is now embarking on expansion overseas.

Now supplying Sainsbury’s and Budgen’s, Kirsty has one of the most successful chilled products on the market. Launching nationwide with ASDA nationwide in 2014 took her from a £1.5 million retail brand to £3.2 million.

An inspirational, confident can-do young woman, Kirsty is passionate about nutrition. At the lunch, Kirsty will talk about her entrepreneurial journey and what she has discovered about healthy food along the way. Kirsty emphasizes the importance of building great relationships and knowing your business model inside-out. Kirsty is very focused on building the Kirsty's Freedom brand and is consolidating her position as one of the most inspirational young businesswomen in the country.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Free parking is available on-site.

Please collect a barrier code from the hotel reception before returning to your vehicle.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes. Please advise us of any change at least 48 hours prior to the event.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. This is not necessary as we will have a registration list to check you in on arrival.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds will not be possible after 24th April as number will have been confirmed with the venue.

You may however send a substitute.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Please advise us in advance of any name changes and also changes in dietary requirements.
