Event description

Description

Join us for an exclusive talk and have the privilege of meeting Sarah Ward: marine conservationist, and Living Seas Officer for Sussex Wildlife Trust.

As part of the Sussex Wildlife Trust's work, they run two core citizen science projects: Shoresearch and Seasearch. These volunteer schemes identify and record marine animals, plants and habitats along our seas and shoreline. The aim behind these projects is to find out more about the marine wildlife of Sussex, as it allows the organisation to develop strategies which protect our seas.

The best part about these projects is that everybody can get involved, and the Sussex Wildlife Trust will provide full training to participate in these projects. It is a great opportunity for you to contribute to conservation efforts on your local patch of coastline.

By booking your ticket, you will be one of 15 people to hear from Sarah about how small action from volunteers has had significant importance in the creation of Marine Conservation Zones.

All proceeds directly fund the Brighton Dolphin Project. The project studies the local dolphin population and works with local communities to better understand and protect our unique marine natural heritage!

For this event, we will be sharing proceeds taken and make a donation to the Sussex Wildlife Trust, so that they can continue to run their citizen science projects that will lead to greater protection of UK marine wildlife.
