Event description

Description

Come and join The Student View supported by the Macquarie Group Foundation to hear from our patron Alan Rusbridger former editor-in-chief of The Guardian in conversation with The Student View Ambassador Emma Barnett, presenter of the morning show on Radio 5 Live. They will be discussing it all, from the threats posed by fake news to what impact a newsroom in every school could have on our democracy.

Throughout the event, there will be a silent donation to raise £12,000 or more to support the programme's costs. This total will cover the cost of 6 schools and help transform the lives of 90 pupils attending schools in low-income communities.

Free drinks and canapés will be served from 6.00pm; we'll kick off the evening at 6.45pm and will wrap up at 9.00pm.

The Student View is a not-for-profit publication which gives young people, particularly from low-income backgrounds a chance to share their world through words.

The programme began as a classroom project in September 2015 and now works with over two hundred and fifty school children in 16 schools across London.
