About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Join us for a special evening celebrating creativity, connection, and the powerful bond between visual art and music.

From 6pm to 7pm, you’re invited to enjoy drinks (the bar will be open!) and explore How Life Works — the deeply moving new exhibition by London-based artist Michèle Franklin, on show in the Peggy Jay Gallery at Burgh House. Michèle’s bold and intimate figurative works explore themes of identity, race, sexuality, and womanhood, drawing from her richly layered heritage and life experience. Her work invites us in — and stays with us long after we’ve seen it.

At 7pm to 8pm, guests will gather for a live concert with her son, Gabriel Franklin Taylor — a self-taught singer, songwriter and musician, performing a curated set of original songs.

Gabriel’s music fuses classical and contemporary influences, creating soundscapes that feel both timeless and new. With voice, lyric and melody, he reflects on the themes of life, inviting the audience to experience the art in a completely new way — one where music and image speak to each other.

This is more than a concert — it’s an evening of storytelling, soul, and shared experience.
