About the Performers
Olya Spencer – Mezzo-Soprano
Olya Spencer is a classically trained mezzo-soprano with a passion for Eastern European vocal traditions. Known for her rich tone and expressive interpretations, she has performed in concert halls and festivals across the UK and internationally. Her repertoire spans opera, chamber music, and folk-inspired art songs, with a particular focus on bringing Russian vocal heritage to new audiences.
Riho Akagi – Fortepiano
Japanese-born pianist Riho Akagi is a specialist in historical performance practice and fortepiano repertoire. She has studied and performed widely in Europe, appearing at major classical music festivals and venues. Her sensitive and stylistically informed playing brings authenticity and nuance to works from the classical and romantic eras, making her an ideal partner for exploring the tradition of Russian Romance.
