Description

In conjuction with the Japan – UK season of Culture 2019, join us on Wednesday 27th February at the University of Edinburgh for an evening on Fukushima, an informative lecture and documentary screening, dedicated to learning about the progress of Fukushima’s environmental recovery.

To begin, Dr Leslie Mabon from Robert Gordon's University will give a lecture on his ongoing research into the regeneration of Fukushima’s coastal communities following the 2011 disasters.

Then, filmmaker and director Ms Toko Shiiki will talk about her own personal experiences from Hiroshima as well as screen two of her documentaries “Over the Sky” and “Passing the Baton”.

If you are interested in learning about the regeneration of Fukushima’s and its communities, please come along to listen.

-Doors Open at 5:45pm with the event starting at 6:00pm.
