Event description

Description

"I think the First World War did change women. Because once we’d had a taste we wouldn't go back to service, we were free." Agnes Greatorex, The Women’s Land Army, 1919

Pentabus Theatre Company is delighted to be hosting An Evening on Rural Women chaired by local and national radio presenter and writer Vicki Archer.

What are the misconceptions around the roles that women have played in rural life? What does it mean to be a rural women in the 21st century? Come and hear different perspectives exploring the role of women in rural communities, from Land Girls to the contemporary WI. Featuring a panel of feminists, journalists, experts and writers, this event will take place at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery on 16 February, 7,30pm.

This event is presented to coincide with our 2016 hit Here I Belong by Matt Hartley, which is re-touring this spring - for full tour details please see our website.
