Event Details

TWENTY-ONE years ago on November 17, Alan McLoughlin entered the cauldron of Windsor Park and scored the equalising goal against Northern Ireland – a strike which sent Jack Charlton’s team to USA ’94. A measure of McLoughlin the player

Two years ago, he entered a battle, having been diagnosed with cancer of the kidney. He then generously offered himself as a human guinea-pig for a new drug in the hope of helping others beat the disease – although the process is deleterious to his own health.  A measure of McLoughlin the man

A major unhappiness in his book is at the critics who looked on him and other English-born players of Irish parents as ‘Plastic Paddies’, including Roy Keane/ Eamon Dunphy. He was offered the chance to play for England B on the same day he accepted the call-up to Ireland B. Nothing plastic there. A measure of McLoughlin the Irishman

Now, the PST & Pompey legend/current 1st team coach - Alan McLoughlin, would like to invite you to an exclusive event at the Victory Suite, Fratton Park on 1st December 2014 - "An evening with Alan McLoughlin".

'Macca' as he is fondly known will be addressing the audience and reliving some of his favourite memories, taken from his new book 'A different shade of green'.

The book, which has been shortlisted for Ireland's Sports Book of the year, will be available to buy on the evening - so please bring along some cash!  Macca will be signing copies of the book - making it the perfect Christmas present for any football fan.

We are hoping some special guests will also be joining us for what should be a memorable evening, so please reserve your place now.

Doors @ 7pm, with Macca addressing guests from 7.30pm.

The bar will be open, but food will not be served.

Dan Windle from Express FM will be hosting.
