Description

Eimear McBride's first novel A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing won the Bailey's Prize for Women's Fiction, the first Goldsmiths Prize for experimental fiction and the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award. Her second, The Lesser Bohemians, has recently won the James Tait Black Prize. This latest book is set in 1990s London, where a young Irish student falls in love with an older actor. She is a naive immigrant, thrilled with her new life in the city, he is haunted by demons.
