About this event

When you roll up your sleeves and get out the mixing bowl, you do it for reasons far beyond the mere production of a piece of food. Few know this better than Helen Goh, who – alongside being a recipe developer with Ottolenghi for more than a decade, a baking columnist and co-author of Sweet and Comfort – is, uniquely, a practising psychologist.

Recipe developer, baking columnist, and practising psychologist Helen Goh will be discussing her new book Baking and the Meaning of Life – a remarkable collection of recipes which explores the joy and meaning of baking in all its guises.

Helen Goh has been a recipe developer with Yotam Ottolenghi for more than a decade and co-authored the bestselling backing book Sweet and the family food book Comfort. A trained psychologist, she combines psychology practice with a cooking career, becoming head pastry chef at a landmark restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, before moving to London.
