On the evening, giants of contemporary Scottish literature Janice Galloway and A.L. Kennedy will be in conversation about the books that established their reputation as two of the greatest living writers in Britain today. The Trick is To Keep Breathing and Paradise are more than deserving of their status as modern classics: we at Looking Glass Books couldn’t be happier about it!

About the Authors
Janice Galloway's first novel, The Trick is to Keep Breathing, won the MIND/Allen Lane Book of the Year. Her second novel, Foreign Parts, won the American Academy of Arts and Letters E. M. Forster Award while her third, Clara, won the Saltire Award. As well as novels she has written short stories, life writing, libretti, poems, and a play. All Made Up won Scottish Book of the Year 2012.
A.L.Kennedy is the author of 6 novels, 7 short story collections and 3 works of non-fiction. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. She was twice included in the Granta Best of Young British Novelists list. She has won awards including the 2007 Costa Book Award and the Austrian State Prize for International Literature.
