About this event

An Evening with JA'NUKA - The Will To Survive - Part 4: The Motherland Experience

Come join us for a captivating evening filled with music, quadrille dancing, singing and reminiscing, at the Legacy Centre of Excellence, on Saturday 4th October 2025 @ 19.00hrs -21.30hrs.

JA'NUKA , a Jamaican quadrille dance group will take you on an awe-inspiring journey of survival. Our primary aim is to entertain, educate, empower and inspire positive awareness of our Jamaican / Caribbean cultural heritage, that is intricately linked with "The Motherland".

Our performances attract multi-cultural and inter-generational audiences locally, nationally and internationally.

In this performance we celebrate our African ancestors' passionate love of music and dance, their strength, resilience; resourcefulness; determination; mental and physical triumph over oppression.

We also share our experiences of coming to England, "The Motherland"; the things we missed from home and how we adjusted, intermingled with Jamacian folk songs and audience participation.
