An Evening with Jim Kay: The Art of Harry Potter
Event Information
Description
We are thrilled to welcome illustrator Jim Kay to Bedford, to celebrate the release of the latest of his illustrated Harry Potter editions, The Goblet of Fire.
This event celebrates the publication of Jim's illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. An extraordinary creative achievement by two extraordinary talents, Jim Kay's inspired reimagining of J.K. Rowling's classic series has created an entirely fresh visual and yet instantly familiar story for one of the most well-loved works of fiction.
This new fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire brings more breathtaking scenes and unforgettable characters to life – including Cedric Diggory, Fleur Delacour and Mad Eye Moody. With paint, pencil and pixels, Kay conjures the wizarding world as we have never seen it before. Fizzing with magic and brimming with humour, this full-colour edition will captivate fans and new readers alike as Harry, now in his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, finds himself competing in the legendary Triwizard Tournament and facing death-defying tasks, dragons and Dark wizards ...
Jim Kay
Jim Kay is an English artist from Northhampshire, England, who won the Kate Greenway Medal in 2012 for his illustrations for the book A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. He was selected personally by J. K. Rowling to present illustrations of every title in the Harry Potter series in technicolour.
The Event and Tickets
Jim Kay will talk about his work creating the illustrated editions of Harry Potter at Bedford Heights on Friday 11 October at 8pm. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask him questions. Duration: approx. 1 hour.
