Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, John Grundy will no longer be able to attend. The talk will now be delivered by Peter Ryder and Stan Beckensall.

Northumberland National Park is home to many intriguing and historic churches. Recently-completed restoration work at St Michael’s Church, Alnham, has revealed more of its fascinating story which has been shaped by the history and landscape of the region.

Peter and Stan will share the secrets of Alnham and other churches in the hills, in the atmospheric setting of this 1000-year-old church.

Stan Beckensall is a former teacher, archaeologist and international expert on prehistoric rock art. He has explored, written and given many talks on the wonders of Northumberland's history and landscape, including the county's many fascinating churches.

Peter Ryder is a renowned archaeologist who works as a historic buildings consultant. He has been overseeing the emerging archaeology of St Michael's during the recent restoration work and assessing what it adds to our understanding of this unique place.
