An evening with Lizzy Hawker
Mon 5 June 2017, 19:30 – 21:00 BST
Lizzy Hawker is a British endurance athlete who has held the world record for 24-hour road running and is a former world champion at 100km.
Lizzy's first endurance event, now a mere dot on the vast landscape of what she has achieved, was the London Marathon 2000. Five years later, having never owned a pair of trail shoes until 10 days before the event, she ran the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) for the first time, and won.
This is just the beginning of her story. If you've ever ran a trail in your life, like to be inspired or purely have a free evening, this lady is worth listening to.
"For me, the most important thing is to run simply for the love of it, with heart and soul as well as head and legs. And then to follow the path that opens up" Lizzy Hawker
