The feline duo find themselves plunged into a spate of alarming fairground murders as a carefree vacation turns into a holiday nightmare. As the deckchairs unfold and the ice creams melt, they face their most baffling case yet, but first they must find the bodies!

Mandy Morton began her professional life as a musician. Her songwriting formed the basis of six albums during the 1970s and early 1980s, when she toured extensively with her band. More recently, she has worked as a freelance arts journalist for national and local radio, specialising in making music and theatre documentary. Her series No. 2 Feline Detective Agency feature Hettie Bagshot, a mac-wearing tabby cat who’s the founder of the detective agency Hettie’s able assistant, Tilly Jenkins. Hettie’s unnamed community is populated solely by cats with careers as musicians, bakers, and plumbers; they own shops and put on fashion shows. The world that Morton has created is irresistible.


She will be in conversation with writer and biographer Laura Thompson. Laura Thompson is the author of several critically acclaimed works of non-fiction. Her first book The Dogs: A Personal History of Greyhound Racingwon the Somerset Maugham Award. Rex V. Edith Thompson: A Tale of Two Murderswas shortlisted for a CWA Dagger Award. She has written biographies of Nancy Mitford and Agatha Christie, A Different Class of Murderabout the Lord Lucan scandal, The Last Landladyabout her grandmother, and the New York Times-bestselling Take Six Girls: The Lives of the Mitford Sisters.
