Join us for an evening with Martin Creed. One of Britain’s most highly-regarded and popular artists, his work captures the public imagination, while also attracting critical acclaim for its generous, accessible approach. This event will see Martin talk about his work and life with some musical interludes and questions from the audience.
Well known in Edinburgh, Martin gave us Work 1059 on The Scotsman Steps – all 104 steps leading from the Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge to Waverley Station clad in different colours of marble. In 2010 his exhibition Down Over Up at The Fruitmarket Gallery was one of the most successful we have ever staged.
Martin Creed was born in 1968 in Wakefield. From the age of three he lived in Glasgow. Between 1986 and 1990 he studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. In 2001 he was the winner of the Turner Prize. He currently lives and works in London.
