Description

Enter the dark world of Maxine Grey if you dare

Since a young girl, Maxine escaped into a world of words and imagination with her obsessive love of books. Born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the North East of England, she moved to Australia at the age of ten where eventually she had a successful career in advertising, copywriting, media and recruitment. Her favourite genres always being horror, crime and dark psychological fiction. She admits an obsession with True Crime also.

Returning to the UK in 2013, Maxine now resides in County Durham with her nineteen-year-old son and two very naughty Burmese cats. Booklover Catlady Publicity was born as a business in 2015 and quickly became popular as Maxine helped hundreds of authors, from new indie to household names with their book publicity. She is also a world ranked Book Reviewer and in the Top 500 Reviewers on Amazon UK devouring up to 300 books a year.

In 2017 she submitted her first short story for consideration for a horror anthology, rejected the first time but absorbed the second time into the dark humour/horror anthology Demonic Wildlife. Following this another story was published in Demonic Household in 2018. In 2019 Maxine will have two more short stories published in different horror anthologies including Demonic Carnival. All available on Amazon. Maxine Grey is the pen name of Maxine Groves.

She is currently working on a dark psychological thriller and has plans for a dark crime series set in the North East of England. In addition to this a non-fiction book is underway about Women on the Autism Spectrum and under a different pen name expect to see some dark romance/erotica. Big plans for a literary themed bookshop/café and gift shop is in project stage.

The deliberate plan to write short stories paid off with every story written now published. An anthology of her own short stories with the theme of women who have gone to the dark side will be published in 2019. Her passion is to encourage anyone with the dream to “just write it!” She is currently studying courses in Forensic Psychology and Criminology.

Maxine loves to interact with readers, other authors, budding writers and you can follow her and contact her via email or social media.
