We are absolutely delighted to welcome Owen Sheers to Wycliffe for an evening with one of Britain's most fascinating novelists, poets and playwrights. Owen's wide ranging body of work covers themes that many readers can relate to, from questions of identity to passions of the heart, and in a multitude of forms, including the 2015 novel I saw a Man to his play Pink Mist, staged locally at Bristol Old Vic. Just as Wycliffe Sixth form pupils have the pleasure of studying Sheers' Skirrid Hill collection of poetry as part of their Literature A-Level, for a generation of new poetry lovers Owen has become an icon; his work begs questions of his readers and demands their attention with his thoughtful imagery and skillful use of language. This promises to be an evening of great excitement for fans of modern literature with one of Britain's best young writers.
