At this event you will have the opportunity to:
Be inspired by Rhian’s experience and journey
Meet fellow business people and expand your local network
Obtain helpful takeaways to implement in your own working life
Hear about how resilience, hope and sheer determination have helped Rhian come to terms with the most unimaginable loss, gaining huge strength through raising money to provide much needed support whilst keeping her loved ones’ memories alive.
We hope you can join us at this event.
Having suffered the incomprehensible loss of both her young son and husband within a week of each other in 2012, Rhian went on to set up the charity ‘2Wish Upon A Star’.
The charity aims to improve bereavement services and to provide support for families across Wales in the immediate aftermath of the sudden loss of a child. Since then, the charity has raised more than £600,000 and Rhian’s extraordinary vision and determination has led to a wide range of support for this much needed area including: bereavement counselling, support groups, hospital family suites and memory boxes.
The charity is now working with all A&E departments across Wales as well as several critical care units and Rhian regularly gives talks to the police force and other support services in the area.
Rhian’s efforts have been recognised by several award bodies including the Chwarae Teg Inspiration Award, the St David's Citizenship Award set up to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of people in Wales, the Prime Minister’s Point of Light Award, the Halifax Giving Extra Award and the Leading Wales, leadership in the voluntary sector award.
