An Evening with Sir Christopher Ghika

Before his recent retirement from the Household Divison, Sir Christopher was responsible for the military operation for some of the most resplendant Royal events in recent history. Overseeing arrangements for the funerals of both Prince Philip and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, not to mention the Jubilee ceremonies and lastly the Coronation of King Charles lll, Sir Christopher has an amazing story to tell about how events such as these are planned so far in advance and how much work goes into making sure that thousands of personnel are all in the right place at the right time.

During the Queen's Jubilee celebrations over £5,500 was raised by villagers for a lasting memorial for Her Majesty to be placed in the village. The Parish Council are in the process of refurbishing the entrance to the village green to make it more readily accessible and now seems the perfect opportunity for the Jubilee Group to commission a gate for the green which can be appropriately dedicated. All money made for this evening will be added to that fund.

We are also going to have a raffle with some amazing prizes and some of the money raised for this will be donated to a military charity of Sir Christophers choice
