Event description

Description

With NHSN Archivist, June Holmes

The notable Victorian naturalists Albany and John Hancock lived and worked in Newcastle and are well known for their contribution to our understanding of local natural history: but what about their sister Mary Jane and their brother Thomas? Find out more about the extended Hancock family through the photographs and documents in our archives.

There will be a small exhibition of Mary Jane's art works on display with family memorabilia as well as the legacy work of the Hancock brothers.

Free for NHSN members. Non-members £5.

Please note that we have a NO REFUNDS policy for ticket cancellations, except in cases where the event is cancelled by us.
