About this event

An evening of songs, memories and rock n roll anecdotes related with acerbic wit and tongue firmly in cheek by the voice of indie legends Inspiral Carpets in their golden years. Tom plays Inspirals classic hits including Saturn 5, This Is How It Feels and She Comes in the Fall among many others along with material from solo albums such as Keep Britain Untidy (2001) and this Year's Grand Mal (2024) and some well-chosen covers. He’ll also be signing (and of course selling) copies of his many post-Inspirals releases and his engagingly written, angry and laugh-out-loud funny memoir ‘Carpet Burns’.

Cool as F**k!

PLEASE NOTE: There will be ranked seating for around 40 people on a first-come-first served basis. So get there early to bag one! There's a few other seats and tables further back too. The bar will stay open throughout – but if you're in a row of seats, please get your drinks in before the show starts and in the interval to avoid spoiling it for others!

TICKETS ARE £20 (plus fee). £15 for club members (Code available from Kev Saunders and the club manager)

More about Tom

An accomplished singer songwriter and guitarist , best known as the ex-lead singer with Manchester's finest Inspiral Carpets , he sang on all the band's hits and was present at the height of their success. Tom parted with Inspirals in 2011 and has been forging a successful solo career ever since. Since 2016 Tom has also been fronting a band called The Karpets who play the entre Inspirals catalogue with verve, aplomb and, of course, A Tom... Storming their own headlining shows and festival appearances including Shiine On, Kubix and Stone Valley North supporting the likes of Embrace and Black Grape with the intensity of performance and vocal purity that made This is How it Feels and Saturn Five such successes in the first place

Frequently asked questions

Is the venue accessible for wheelchair users?

I’m afraid the venue’s not great for wheelchair access – it’s a very old listed building. Actually getting into the place isn’t too bad – no actual steps between the gate and the front door but an uneven path with gravelly areas.

Does th venue have disabled toilets

Afraid not – although there is a ground floor Gents toilet that's step-free. There is also a ground floor Ladies (2 steps)
