This free session will demonstrate how the software is an all-in-one solution which provides a wide variety of tools to sketch, model and document your designs.

Intrigued by Vectorworks Spotlight? Already use Vectorworks but want to learn about the new features and best practice?

This free session will demonstrate how the software is an all-in-one solution which provides a wide variety of tools to sketch, model and document your designs. There will be a talk by a Vectorworks professional who will recommend workflows and best practice and show how to present scenic models in augmented reality. This will be followed by a training presentation and the opportunity to ask questions.

Who is the course aimed at?

Set and Lighting Designers, Production Managers, don’t have to be existing Vectorworks users.

Trainer bio

Tom was first introduced to Vectorworks in 2001 whilst studying Technical Theatre at University. After graduating Tom worked for many years at The Bush Theatre, followed by a huge variety of shows, events and concerts at The Roundhouse Theatre in Camden. For many years Tom held the title of Head of Lighting at Longborough Festival Opera in the Cotswolds and then Chief Electrician for Regents Park Open Air Theatre ( 2010 Season). Most recently Tom was the Deputy Chief Electrician at the Grade 1 listed Bath Theatre Royal in the west of England. In 2013 Whilst working with the Shakespeare company ‘Propeller’ Tom won the Inaugural Jill Fraser Award. Altogether, Tom did 4 years of international touring with Propeller, followed by numerous tours for Frantic Assembly and re-lights and adaptations for English Touring Opera. Tom’s Vectorworks Drafting has included projects for St Petersburg Ballet Theatre, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera and The National Theatre of Great Britain. He has undertaken training and consultancy work for CSSD, The Lir, Rose Bruford, Lipa, Knifedge design, Abbey Theatre Dublin, Slava Snowshow and Phoenix dance theatre in Leeds Tom still designs a handful of productions a year and is now the Entertainment Industry Specialist with Vectorworks.
