An Impression of Space
Overview
A graduate from Edinburgh College of Art, Claudia has used oil on canvas and card to produce a series of paintings which explore a variety of spaces captured in a moment in time. From city and island scapes to stadiums and sporting events, her style uses perspective and colour to give an illusion of realism and movement. From her early days as an artist Claudia enjoyed recreating the emotive atmosphere of a live event. She developed her work by bringing people into the pieces, using a form of brushwork that gives an interpretation of crowds while keeping it as realistic as possible. In her city and island scenes she particularly focuses on skies, water, reflection and light.
Claudia's artistic journey has been heavily influenced by Pointillism and Expressionism and she has experimented with both while keeping true to perspective and depth. Kandinsky's use of colour, pattern, line and composition also inspired her work. Claudia is looking forward to sharing her pieces and vision with the wider public.
