Course aims and objectives

· To reflect on the key skills for leading, and tools to support, effective leadership and management of high-quality learning and teaching.

· To understand, evaluate and demonstrate the key skills for leading and influencing practice in order to improve outcomes for children and all stakeholders.

· To understand the importance of self- evaluation in managing improvement by demonstrating sound judgement, clarity of action planning and reflective practice

· Strengthen effective communication and relationships with all stakeholders.

Learning outcomes

· Identify and articulate the key skills necessary for effective leadership and management of quality early years teaching.

· Evaluate the impact of different leadership styles on the quality of early years education.

· Demonstrate and implement leadership tools to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in early years.

· Develop and apply strategies to support and mentor early years educators in improving their teaching practices and create and maintain a positive and inclusive environment that encourages continuous professional development.

· Establish a personal development plan for ongoing development as a leader in early years education
