This course is a starting point for learning about American literature. You’ll read and explore different texts to build your understanding and enjoyment of the topic.
What will this course cover?
Through the learning materials and critical discussion, you’ll examine how American literature reflects and shapes cultural identity, historical change, and social values.
What will I get out of this course?
You’ll gain a better understanding of American literature and how it reflects people, places and history. By the end of the session, you’ll feel more confident talking about key writers and themes, and you’ll be inspired to keep exploring.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?
This course is ideal for beginners or anyone curious about American literature. You don’t need any previous experience or specialist knowledge, just an interest in learning something new. It’s also a great starting point for engaging in cultural studies.
What do I need to bring with me?
You don’t need any special equipment. You’re welcome to bring a pen and notebook if you’d like to take notes or jot down ideas.
