Event description

Description

A short course to explore the character of Anglicanism and the Church of England over five weeks in Lent.

This course is designed to help candidates preparing for a Bishop's Advisory Panel to better understand the unique characteristics of ministry within the Church of England.

We've got some great speakers from across the Diocese of Leeds sharing their expertise to help you deepen your understanding of the Church of England in readiness to attend the Bishop's Advisory Panel.

Every Tuesday in Lent:

12 March 2019 - Revd Mark Powley - History and Distinctiveness of the Church of England

19 March 2019 - Bishop Tom Butler - Ordained Ministry/Priesthood

26 March 2019 - Revd Cat Thatcher - The Sacraments and Word

2 April 2019 - Very Revd Simon Cowling - Liturgy

9 April 2019 - Revd Helen Collings - What a vicar does

Please do not rely on eventbrite to put all these dates in your diary.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We recommend public transport - Leeds station is a five minute walk from the venue. There is limited parking at the venue, please email vocations@leeds.anglican.org to arrange

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Email vocations@leeds.anglican.org and one of the team will help you

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No

Can I update my registration information?

Yes please just log in and update it

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes but please let us know who is coming by amending the registration details

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No it is important we know who is coming for fire regulations and for accurate records for the discernment process. It also means in the event of cancellations due to bad weather we can get in touch quickly

Do I need to come to all the sessions?

It is certainly better if you do come to all the sessions as the course as a whole will make more sense. However, we recognise that isn't always possible. Please let us know if you are unable to attend one or more sessions so we know who to expect.
