Come and learn more about gambling harms in Wales – and how you can help. We’d love you to join us to get to know Ara Recovery for All Cymru and the work we’re doing here in Wales.
Ara is the regional provider within the National Gambling Support Network, supporting people aged 18+ affected by gambling harms across Wales and Southwest England. Through our services and outreach, we’re working to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and make it easier for people to access the right support.
In 2024 to 2025 we reached over 12500 people in Wales with our gambling harms work through our prevention and treatment pathways. Building on this work, we launched Ahead of the Game in January 2025 to focus on prevention and education for young people aged 11 – 24 and we have reached 7,109 young people and 773 youth-facing workers across Wales to date.
As part of this event, we’re offering our accredited Bet You Can Help training and our Ahead of the Game training for professionals for FREE to the SPARK community. This interactive event will:
✨ Share a bit about who we are and what we do
✨ Explain what gambling harms look like and how they affect individuals, families, and communities.
✨ Give you the tools to recognise signs of gambling harm.
✨ Build confidence to start conversations and offer support.
✨ Share pathways into specialist help across Wales.
✨Introduce Ahead of the Game our prevention and education programme for young people
✨ Make space for questions, ideas and connections
This training is open to anyone in the SPARK community who wants to understand more about gambling harms and make a difference in the lives of those affected.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about our work, explore potential partnerships and see how we can work together to make a difference in Wales.
Lunch will be provided between 1pm - 2pm with opportunity to network.
We can’t wait to see you there! 🙌 Lets come together and make sure no one faces gambling harm alone.
