An Introduction to Arts Funding with Laura Porter

During this session, gallery director Laura Porter will be discussing her experience with different kinds of funding, talking about what's available for artists now, and how to start to put together a funding application, including project planning, aims/goals, budgeting, how to line up partners, and the different requirements for different funders. Laura Porter, founding director of Studio KIND, is a sculptor and curator based between North Devon and South London, having graduated from UAL with an MA in Sculpture. Laura has exhibited extensively across the country, and has had a solo exhibition at The Plough Arts Centre and was in the 2016 Broomhill National Sculpture Prize. In 2021 she led the British Council funded project ‘Reciprocal Space’, and has been awarded the a-n Time, Space, Money funding.
