About this event

Family & Education • Children & Youth

Please note that, due to our funding, our workshops are only open to parents/carers/professionals who live or work in South Gloucestershire (or who have a child at school in South Glos).

Does your child…

  • Struggle with change or routines?
  • Avoid eye contact or have difficulty with social interactions?
  • Have intense interests or repeat certain behaviours?
  • Get overwhelmed by noise, lights, or busy environments?

Have school suggested your child may be autistic, or have they referred for an assessment already and you are on the waiting list? Are you feeling unsure, worried, or simply looking for information?

Are you a professional looking to broaden your knowledge and understanding around autism?

Join our informative and compassionate workshop designed for parents and carers who are beginning to ask, “Could my child be autistic?”

Corrina from Platypus training will cover areas to help you; -Gain a better understanding of Autism

-Understand some of the signs you may see

-Consider the impact of sensory differences and co-occurring conditions

-Identify specific problems, such as masking

-Know how to support our children and ourselves

This workshop will be delivered online by Corrina from Platypus Training, who has a wealth of personal and professional experience of neurodiversity and a masters in Autism. She has worked as a Family Services Manager for over 15 years and has developed services for families, children and young people. Corrina has extensive experience of working with families where there are children with autism and ADHD.

This workshop will be recorded and there will be time to ask questions.
