An Introduction drawing trees with ink

Join us for a relaxing day of creativity at Cleeve Common! Suitable for beginners or those wishing to improve on existing skills, this event is perfect for all abilities. Learn the basics of drawing with indian inks and techniques to capture the beauty of the Common. Local artist and art tutor Gemma Hastilow will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks along the way. Immerse yourself in nature and let your creativity flow in this picturesque setting.

Use of all required equipment included. Includes a hot drink and cake halfway through at Cleeve Hill Golf Club.

Booking is essential. Suitable for ages 14 years and above. See FAQs for wet weather details.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any equipment?

Please bring a lightweight chair and a litre of water (for painting) with you on the day. Sensible footwear & weather appropriate clothing eg. Suncream and sunhat if it is hot. You can get chilly sitting still painting so bring an extra layer.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Yes of course!

What if I have a disability or access requirement?

Please contact Nicole on hello@cleevecommon.org.uk to discuss your requirements. We will do everything we can to meet your needs and enable you to take part in this event.

Are refreshments included?

Yes, a hot drink and cake are provided during the break at Cleeve Hill Golf Club (Flynn's on the Hill). However please feel free to bring any other sustenance you may like with you, or you can purchase other food and drink from the golf club on arrival or throughout the event.

What facilities are available?

To enjoy the best views we will be a short walk away from the golf club building where there are toilets and refreshments are available to purchase.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather is 'not great' then we will use an event shelter. If the weather is very wet or windy we will look to see if we can use the golf club building, working from photographs. If this is not possible we will reschedule or offer you a refund.
