Have you ever found yourself frustrated using reams of paper to start a fire when camping or just wondered how on earth people used to make fire before we had firelighters?
We will share our knowledge of how fire works with you and help you discover the fire basics:
- the process of how fire works
- source and select appropriate tinders and fuel
- various fire-lays
- exposing dry wood
- trouble-shooting
- responsible fire-lighting and sourcing of fuel.
- fire-safety
This workshop is perfect for beginners or for anyone already skilled in fire-lighting but looking to take their learning further.
There will also be an opportunity to learn about and forage for some local plants for interest, and afterward, we will gather to enjoy a warm drink heated on one of our fires and some delicious cake.
All you need to bring is yourself and dress for the weather.
