Event description
Walking through some of the most glorious parts of Cranborne Chase, we will learn how to harvest wild plants for food and other uses.

About this Event

Join Kael on a beginner’s guide to foraging for wild food course. Kael is a tutor at the Ancient Technology Centre and is an expert on the historical use of food and regularly forages for his own consumption.

Nature provides an abundance of food which changes with each season. By walking through some of the most glorious parts of Cranborne Chase, we will learn how to harvest wild plants for food and other uses.

During the walk we will also look at folklore and how our ancestors interacted with plants, especially during Beltain, Lughnassa and Samhaim. We will then walk back to the Ancient Technology Centre and cook some of the food we have gathered.

Please note that although the walk is considered easy, we may walk as much as 5k. Appropriate clothing and footwear will be required.

Participants will meet at the Ancient Technology Centre to commence their walk at 10am. We aim to finish by 2pm but the time can be extended for those who wish to remain on site.

£30 per person inclusive of all materials and beverages.
