An introduction to management and governance
Event Information
About this event
Using the IHE Code of Governance this workshop will explore what is effective and efficient governance in independent higher education providers. Led by our IHE Governance Code partners Shakespeare Martineau and supported by top consultants this session will address the most common questions asked by independent providers as they seek to form, develop or review the governance and management of their organisation:
Why do we need Higher Education specific models of governance and management?
How can we adapt the standard university models to fit our provision, and why that sometimes is not the answer?
How do we avoid duplication between our governance and management activities, especially in small and specialist providers?
How do we balance our academic and corporate governance needs?
How can good governance and management support growth and development?
How do I know when my governance is efficient, effective, and ready for scrutiny by OfS?
This workshop is a must for anyone in the OfS registration process, including those moved from Approved to Approved (fee cap). It will also introduce the rest of the IHE series on governance and management, which can be seen in our events list.
