This 2 hour workshop with Emily Garside is aimed at anyone looking to make a start in musical theatre. The workshop will take a look at the history and structure of the musical as a guide to writing your own and will cover how to find collaborators, writing process and mastering musical style.

(This workshop works as a standalone introduction but if you’re looking to deepen your knowledge, a sequel workshop will follow on Saturday 19 December)

Who’s it for: This course is ideal for playwrights looking to explore writing for musical theatre, as well as lyricists/composers who want to explore working in the genre. Music notation and composition skills are not necessary as this is a course focused on the creative exploration and practicalities.
