Event description
Join us for an evening of naturally dyeing textiles using fruit and vegetable peelings!

About this Event

Participants will be invited to explore the potential of natural colours that lie in off cuts of fruits and vegetables we discard everyday, by dyeing their own organic cotton and wool yarn skeins. Colour outcomes will range from the vibrant oranges of onion skins to the subtle pinks found in avocados. Knowledge will be learnt and shared through the process of hand dyeing fabrics. Thus engaging with materials, tools and each other.

Open to people of all ages, the workshop will offer an activity for those interested in learning more about sustainable processes and alternatives to chemical based dyes. It aims to attract people who are interested in gardening, food and a shared goal of reducing the amount of waste they produce. Making is as accessible as possible, it will be a beginner level textile workshop, ideal for someone with little to no knowledge of natural dyeing.

All material will be provided.
