About this event

This course is for PhD students and researchers who are interested in learning more about the practice of applying open research principles to every stage of the research lifecycle.

Open Research is a set of principles and practices whose aim is to make the outputs of research freely accessible and usable, thereby to maximise the possibility of public benefit.

Open research is relevant to all researchers and all disciplines and it includes sharing a variety of research outputs, for example, research protocols, methodology, code, data, and publications, as early as possible in the research process, in a way that enables access and reuse by others.

By the end of this session you will:

  • Have an understanding of what is meant by open research
  • Learn about the different types of open research outputs
  • Be aware of tools and local systems to facilitate open research
