Event description

Description

What causes the strange growth forms on plants that we call galls? Join Steve Cross, President of Liverpool Botanical Society, for a close look at these fascinating growths.

Suitable for beginners as well as those already familiar with some galls. The day will include a light walk around the grounds of Eastham Country Park to look for galls formed on various plants and trees. Tea and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch and appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear.

There is a charge for the carpark - £2 all day.

Please meet in the visitor centre. More details about the site:

The next day on Saturday 15th September, we have a follow-up workshop, looking at galls more critically under the microscope at the World Museum to help you to go further with your identifications. You're welcome to join us on just one of the gall workshops but we recommend you come to both.
