A practical workshop for WBKA Members led by Lynfa Davies, Master Beekeeper, NDB

About this event

As beekeepers, we are naturally fascinated by what our bees are foraging on and, with a little detective work (and a lot of practice), we can work out what plants they are visiting by identifying the pollens they bring back in their pollen loads and in the nectar.

This one day workshop will introduce you to some of the techniques which can be used by amateurs to enter into the fascinating world of pollen. You do not need any experience as you will be introduced to working with a microscope and all equipment is provided.

If you would like to bring some flowers from your garden to make up pollen slides please do - but just bring a couple!

There are two ticket types available - one using a WBKA microscope, the other for those who bring their own compound microscope. Please ensure that you purchase the correct ticket type as there will not be spare equipment available.

Tea and coffee will be available but bring your own lunch.
