Context

Public health intelligence is a core function of local authority public health; essential for the development of evidence based policy and the efficient delivery of public health services.

Programme

This free half day seminar led by Southwark Council and Public Health England has been developed to provide an opportunity for future graduates to develop their understanding of the role of public health intelligence in local government.

Specifically the seminar will cover:

  • The role of the public health intelligence function in local government
  • The role of the Public Health England Knowledge & Intelligence Team
  • How public health intelligence underpins the wider public health function
  • How to start your career in health intelligence and where it can lead

Refreshments will be provided.

Who should attend?

The seminar is aimed at those who are interested in pursuing a career in public health intelligence. It is specifically targeted at those possessing or about to graduate with a Masters in Public Health (MPH/MSc), Masters in Epidemiology (MSc) or associated subject such as Human Geography or Econometrics.
