About this event

This 2-hour workshop will provide an overview of how to use the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) to support your career progression and enhance your teaching.

The Library Open Scholarship team will be introducing opportunities to publish with our open press.

The Academic Development team will be taking you through how to begin, carry out and publish your scholarship projects. This will also cover next scholarship steps for career progression and the support available.

This session will also include scholarship case studies from academic colleagues.

Please register using your Sussex email address (e.g. ab123@sussex). Venue details will be emailed to you the day before the event.

We’ve made it simpler to book on to our events. You no longer need to provide a budget code and there won’t be a charge if you can’t attend. However, it is essential that you let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel your place by emailing od@sussex.ac.uk. If you’re off sick, please still try to email or ask a colleague to help.

Why is this important? If you don’t cancel your place in advance, an event with few bookings might not be able to proceed – or colleagues on a waiting list might not have enough notice to take your place. Please let us know.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any specific requirements regarding this staff development activity (e.g. hearing/visual impairment) so that we can do our very best to accommodate your needs.

Your opinion matters! You will be asked to complete a short feedback form either at the end of the session or after the session. We appreciate you taking the time to do this, as your feedback helps us to know what works and what doesn’t, allowing us to create a better and more relevant learning experience for everyone.
